From the depths of the dankest basement of a communal house in Seattle, a small scantily clad girl rolls on the floor, chanting anthems about Girl Scout Cookies and Lazer Dome. This black-light lit basement dance party gives birth to "Lisa Dank." Born and raised on an island off the coast of Oakland, California, Lisa Dank came to the Pacific Northwest to unify Seattle's underground punk rock DIY house party scene with classic early 90's pop music. Described as Seattle's DIY Pop-star or "Madonna on a budget", Lisa Dank became a self made sensation in Seattle music through guerilla marketing and an undeniably entertaining stage presence that warrants constant backlash from anonymous blog commentators and vengeful journalists regarding her controversial stage antics. April 20th or 4/20 conveniently marked the release of Lazer Dome EP, the first official release from this rising star. Within a week of releasing the album, Cookies (The first single) was featured in The Drive at Five on local listener-powered C89 Seattle's Top 40 Dance Station. Writing and performing her own music since the age of 3, Lisa Dank is not your typical performer. Her musical styles range from Rock, Hip-Hop and Pop, and a combination of live back-up dancers and Carnival inspired costumes. Drawn to the rhythmic nature of the traditional and unconventional hip-hop and dance breaks, you will find a variety of poppy beats, catchy hooks with a "fun, playful, I-just-smoked-a-blunt-in-the-urban-sexual-jungle kind of vibe". This is the Lazer Dome experience, this is Lisa Dank.
